full games :: beneath a steel sky

Beneath a Steel Sky was originally released in 1994. It was the second game by Revolution Software. It was released as freeware on August 3rd 2003.

For more information about the game, please click here.

To play Beneath a Steel Sky you're required to download a program called ScummVM. This application emulates LucasArts SCUMM engine, and along with many LucasArts games, it can also play Beneath a Steel Sky, Broken Sword 1, and Broken Sword 2.

First, you need to download the latest version of the Windows Installer (or whatever flavour of OS you prefer) from the download page on ScummVM.org.

Next, choose which version of BASS you want to play: Beneath a Steel Sky, Freeware CD Version (67MB) [recommended!] or Beneath a Steel Sky, Freeware Floppy Version (7.3MB)

The difference between the two is that the floppy version only has a few sound effects and no voice acting.

Clem has created a very handy installer which installs both ScummVM and BASS at the same time. The installer is available from his website, and you can choose either the CD or Floppy version.

Joe has created an ISO (disc image) which contains both ScummVM (0.10.0) and the talkie version of BASS. You can download the 147MB ISO file directly from Revfans. It's currently Version 2 - expect more updates in the future.

A full tutorial on how to install ScummVM and BASS will be created soon. If you get stuck in the mean time, feel free to contact us for help.
