Mindfactory has unexpectetly posted an update about their long awaited game Broken Sword 2.5.

Here follows a translation of their posted (in German) current status of the game:

The beginning of the end.

Our 3D department has reported that they’ve started working on the last of in total three in-game sequences. One of those will introduce you into the game, the second will provide you with excitement in the middle of the game and the third sequence will be the outro.

The backgrounds of Broken Sword 2.5 are 90% finished. There are only a few locations not finished whereto George will travel. Animations aren’t as far progressed as that. Here is still about a third part missing. However, the playable (!) character Nico is nearing completion and is the most elaborate character in the game after George.

Seven of the eleven playable chapters are as good as finished in programming. Five of them can be played through continuously. The programmers however still have a lot of work to do in many other areas of the development of this game.

Exciting news to say the least. Furthermore, mindFactory has informed the fans that the 2-monthly distribution of the official newsletter (sadly only in German) will be resumed.

As soon as another update arrives, we will inform you accordingly. In the meantime, keep visiting us for the translations of the Backstage articles, which are posted every other week.

haha that makes 3 of us who panicked! Can't wait to play the finished game, does anyone know if there are plans to have a version with an English voiceover?

Has anyone played the demo? what did you think about it compare to 1 and 2 broken sword?
Yeah i was also thinking if it will be any English voiceovers... =)
Anyway a nice surprise about broken sword 2,5.. dint know about it before today... i just love this series... have not played that last one yet.

I love this series! The first series I played was the Broken Sword II: Smoking Mirror. Then I played the third installment, then the fourth. I finished playing the first game just now! And now I'm downloading the demo for broken sword 2.5. Will there be a Fifth game?
