Discshop.se have given us the first view of the box art for Broken Sword: The Angel of Death.

Broken Sword 4 Box Art

Looking at the box art, we can see a few things. First, it looks like it's going to be DVD only. Whether this indicates Discshop aren't selling the CDROM version, or if a CDROM version exists at all remains to be seen.

Next, we see the game is rated 12+ through PEGI, so it's the European version of the box art. It might be different for other regions like Broken Sword 3 was.

Nico, George and Anna Maria are present on the cover (as well as the ominous Angel of Death above their heads), possibly showing that Anna Maria will have an equal role to Nico and George in this game.

Finally, we see it's "A Game By Charles Cecil". Quite specific, rather than just branding it with the Revolution Software logo, don't you think?

So, what do you think of the cover? Does it live up to the standards set by the previous games? Would you pick it up if you'd never heard of Broken Sword before? Has it whetted your appetite further? Let us know!

Thanks to Mac on the Revolution Forums for bringing the box art to our attention.

george seems older than when we first met him :) Well it will have been exactly 10 years since first game in few month :) whoa, an anniversary ;) (of course that's why the game hit shelves this year).
"A Game By Charles Cecil" - I think it is no big deal because Revolution practically consists of two people now and Charles is one of them...
As for the story - I think George will fall in love with Anna-Marie (she may be a player character as well) and than she dies unexpectedly. Then Nico will come and help George solve the mystery behind her death... As for the expression of George's face on the cover - it seems like despair...

I can quite asure, that if there would be a cd-rom version of the game, Discshop would sell it :)

It's listed on the THQ site as PC CD/DVD so maybe Discshop only have the DVD boxart :)

Oh right... But then there will be a CD version, right?

CD version will be available in America only I think cause, hey, they are technically behind in optical drives compared to ASIA and Europe.

Hmm, i wonder...
If worst case, there is no CDROM version, will i have to fork out for a DVD player for my computer lol. I hope i dont, my computer is stupid and i'd rather not buy anything for it =p

Hey what's wrong with the DVD-box??? Allows you to put the whole game and bonus material all in one disc. :) Ok maybe some people does'nt have a DVD player but hey we talking about 2006 and now it's DVD that RULES with more space. ;)

Why make it the difficult way when you can do it the easy way. :P

My father bought a new computer when BS3 was released because our old one didn't play it... ^^ I think the cover looks a bit like those of epic movies like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings and you can clearly see that the most important thing are the characters... But a friend told me she thinks the cover is boring... :(

I like the box art. It is indeed very movie like. Any idea what city we are seeing at the bottom?

I don't mind the cover, except for the fact I strongly dislike the colour yellow. :P

Talk on the forum say it could be St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City based on the shape. It could also be Istanbul. Both locations are meant to be in the game.
